Fire Prevention Week a Success |
October 10, 2009 |
The Hellam Volunteers were busy this past week, as it was fire prevention week for
2009. The week kicked off last Saturday at Stauffer's of Kissel Hill, with
Engine 21 on display for the local families who came out for Stauffer's Fall
Festival. Monday evening saw the open house at Station 21. Many families
showed up for the fire truck rides and gift bags. The next day had
the tanker and engine at the local elementary schools. In the morning,
the firefighters visited Wrightsville Elementary then in the afternoon headed to
Kreutz Creek Elementary. The children and teachers alike enjoyed the apparatus
display and the students at Wrightsville got to see StatMedEvac 13 land
in the recreational field. Wednesday was the open house at Station 41.
Engine 21 and crew loaded up to assist the Wrightsville Brothers (and Sisters)
with their display and fire truck rides. A local daycare visited Station
21 on Thursday, where the children learned about fire prevention. The
week finished with another trip to Stauffer's Fall Fest. As you can see, your local firefighters were very busy in the community this week. We appreciate your support and remind you to practice fire safety all day, every day. Station 21 would like to thank the Wrightsville Fire Company for the partnership in this year's fire prevention week. |
