Early this morning, the 41-01 box was struck for a reported residential structure fire.  Chief 41 responding shortly after information relayed from the caller that the house is on fire and everyone is out.  Both Engine 41 and Engine 21 responding before realert.  Engine 41 and Chief 41-1 arriving to a 2.5 story residence with heavy fire to the rear.  Engine 41 hit the hydrant at 3rd and Cherry St. directly in front of the residence while Engine 21 hit a second hydrant at 4th and Vine St.  After both Engines each established their own independent water supply, crews pulled handlines and made entry.  First in handline from Engine 41 found fire on division 2 and also heavy fire in the attic.  Shortly after, the handline from Engine 21 moved to division 2 and began to ventilate and hit some hot spots.  Crews from Attack 42 were next in and assisted with pulling the ceilings and walls to expose the bulk of the fire.  While this was happening, with the assistance of great apparatus placement from the first in Engines, Truck 8-1 was able to set up the tower and go to work ventilating the roof, relieving the interior crews of the smoke and heat conditions inside.  After some overhaul, salvage operations, and an investigation were completed the box was placed available.
