A structure fire assignment was dispatched in Hallam Borough a little after 1:00.
Chief Dube arrived on scene at 160 West Beaver Street reporting all occupants
out with heavy fire on the second division. Engine 21 hit the hydrant
at Beaver and Broad Streets and layed into fire ground. The initial attack
consisted of two 1 3/4" handlines advanced to the second division by two two-man
teams. Engine 41 arrived and assisted with initial operations.
The fire was knocked down within minutes with extension into the third division
attic. Truck 8-1 arrived and setup on side A while the truck crew from
89 helped to ladder the structure, which was divided into two apartments.
The structure was overhauled and the fire marshal was requested for investigation.
Special thanks to the Engine 23 crew for their standby until Engine
21 was readied for service. Congratulations to the firefighters on scene
for a job well done on a fire that was well-off. |
