After just finishing cleaing the apparatus for the upcoming Memorial Day parades,
the 41-1 Wrightsville Borough box was struck for a residential structure fire
in the 500 block of Cherry Street at 15:20. Shortly after, responding equipment
and officers from Station 41 declared a working fire with Engine 41 laying
a line from the intersection of N. 7th and Walnut Streets. Rescue 41-1
layed a line from N. 4th and Cherry Streets. Upon arrival, Engine 21 staged
the apparatus and split crews to serve various roles. 41 crews had already
started an aggressive interior attack in the fire building while other crews
were checking for extension into the adjacent split level home. A second
alarm was struck for manpower due to the intense heat of the day. Crews
were able to hold the fire to the address of origin with no extension into the
adjacent structure. Thank you to all assisting companies and to the residents
who provided ice and water to assist in firefighter rehabilitation. Engine 21 returned to station 41 to assist in getting their hose cleaned and apparatus back in service. Thank you to station 41 for the pizza and the hospitality. |
