Sta. 21 Welcomes the PA Hero Walk |
June 24, 2009 |
Today members of the Hellam Fire Department showed our support to a great cause.
The PA Hero Walk began with a small group of people in western Pennsylvania
working to spread awareness of the Wounded Warrior Project in this country.
They began walking in Philadelphia on June 21, 2009. On July 4, 2009
they will pass through Leechburg, PA, the home to the nations first Iraq war
memorial. They will complete the walk a few hours later at Valley High School
Stadium in New Kensington, PA where they will hold a benefit concert.
Their hope is to raise $250,000 to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
For more information, see the PA Hero Walk website at www.paherowalk.org. Station 21 is proud to support this cause and provided food, drinks, and a cool place to sit down for those that had been walking all day. Our support goes out to the PA Hero Walk group and to all of those serving our country, both here and abroad. |
