At 1917 Stations 21, 41, and 8-1 were dispatched to 6384 Lincoln Highway for a high
risk automatic fire alarm. Prior to the arrival of 21 units, the box was
placed available by command due to a false alarm. As units were returning,
it was indicated to the crew of Rescue 41-1 that their apparatus was on fire
underneath the cab. All units responding to the AFA continued their response
to assist with the fire. 41 crews kept the fire in check using portable
extinguishers until the arrival of Engine 21. A bumper line flowing
foam completed the extinguishment of the fire. A dispatch was made for utility vehicles to haul the equipment from the Rescue to Station 41. Utility 21 responded after emptying the bed of all non-essential equipment. Upon arrival, the Utility was loaded with rescue equipment from R41-1. Also, POV pickup trucks were brought to the scene to carry additional equipment back to Station 41. The Rescue was towed from the scene and will be out of service for an unknown period of time. Utility 21 will be housed at Station 41 to haul personnel and the rescue equipment. Brothers Helping Brothers |
